Job Purpose:
AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining automated inspection systems used in manufacturing, particularly in electronics and PCB assembly. They focus on ensuring high quality by detecting defects like misaligned components, soldering issues, and other quality problems using specialized AOI equipment.

Responsibilities:
AOI Program Development and Setup:
- Creating AOI inspection programs for new products (NPI).
- Optimizing inspection parameters (focus, lighting, thresholds).
- Building and maintaining the component library.
- Analyzing and minimizing false positives.
- Optimizing image processing and detection algorithms.
- Integrating 3D AOI
- Ensuring compliance with IPC standards (IPC-A-610)
- Training machine operators on AOI system usage.
- Writing user manuals and training materials.
- Working with quality, process, test, and SMT engineers.
