Job Purpose:
An Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Technician/ Engineer in SMT (Surface Mount Technology) ensures that all incoming materials meet quality standards before they are used in production. This involves inspecting components, documenting findings, and collaborating with other teams to address any issues. The role also requires familiarity with SMT equipment, electronic components, and quality standards like IPC-A-610.
Responsibilities:
Conducts inspection and testing of incoming materials in accordance with established procedures, methodologies, and work instructions
Ensures proper reporting of inspection results and completion of all required supporting documentation
Tracks the movement and status of inspected materials, ensuring accurate status identification and traceability
Participates in the improvement of incoming and in-process quality control systems to enhance overall product quality
Performs component inspections based on special requests from other departments due to material quality issues
Organizes and carries out sorting of non-conforming materials or products
Participates in the selection and development of optimal methods for parameter control and measurement
